The mission of the Zanesville Fire Department is to protect lives and property, to provide a variety of professional services and educational programs to our community, wherever called upon.

We provide a vast array of specialized services to the citizens and the visitors of the City of Zanesville. The Fire Department is equipped and highly trained in the following areas but not limited to:

About the Zanesville Fire Department

The Zanesville Fire Department proudly protects 28,000 residents living in an area of 12.501 square miles. The daytime population of the city is 48,000. We operate out of three stations that protect a combination of residential, educational, industrial and commercial occupancies. Our department is a public department whose members are on full-time paid status. The department’s Insurance Services Offices (ISO) rating is 2.

The Zanesville Fire Department has been a fully paid professional department since 1879. The department has three manned fire stations:
