Mike King
Mike King's Biography
Mike King has been a resident of the Zanesville area since 2001. He was raised on a family farm in Perry County, attended Sheridan High School and was a 4H member. He returned to the area after graduating from the University of Toledo where he played baseball.
He began his banking career at Park National Bank, where he gained valuable experience in the financial sector. In 2002, Mike joined the Genesis Employees’ Credit Union as manager, a position he holds today. His commitment to credit union members has been unwavering and he enjoys helping Genesis Healthcare employees and their families with their financial needs.
In 2012, Governor John Kasich appointed Mike to the Ohio Department of Financial Institutions Credit Union Council. He served diligently for six years, contributing to the financial expertise and leadership of the Council. He also served on the national level with CUNA’s (Credit Union National Association) Small Credit Union Committee from 2011-2015.
Mike and his wife of thirty years Lisa raised three children together. On weekends, he enjoys attending sporting events, playing golf and attending church. They serve as guardians for their young granddaughter as needed due to military deployments.
Mike is proud to support all civil servants who serve Zanesville. He knows that a safe and secure community isn’t possible without public safety, streets, water, sewer and sanitation.
He serves on the City Council representing the 6th Ward and the city of Zanesville. His goal as councilman is to work to keep our community a good place to live and raise a family. He will ensure fiscal responsibility while still supporting opportunities that benefit Zanesville residents.
