                                                                      Ann Gildow Biography

Ann Gildow was elected as a Zanesville City Council-person at Large, effective the beginning of 2011. She serves on the following committees for the City of Zanesville: Public Service, Emergency Medical Service, Historic Preservation, Community Reinvestment Housing Council, and Ways & Means as Chairperson. She is truly thankful for the opportunity to be part of the progress made in our City.

Gildow is a lifer in Zanesville, having gone to local schools including Rosecrans High School, Zane State College, and Ohio University. Her extensive banking career allowed her to contribute to numerous local organizations over her 40 year career: Financial Literacy & Resource Committee, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, and Zanesville and Muskingum County Housing Advisory Committees to name a few. Ann’s belief that we all should contribute to the community in which we live has been motivation for her active participation over many years.

Ann is fortunate that her family members live and work locally. Her daughter, Jeannie, is a Registered Nurse at Genesis, and has an active son who turned 5 in 2020. Ann’s son, Tom, works through Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 528; he and his family, Brigitta and son, Wyatt, live just outside Muskingum County on County Line Road. Ann and her grown children are avid dog-lovers and all share their homes with canine kids.

Ann retired from banking in 2017 to have more family time and pursue her hobbies such as cabining, spending time with friends & family, kayaking, listening to live music, shopping, decorating and hiking. She spends quality time with her grandson, and savors being “grammy”. Her love for Zanesville and the Muskingum River has prompted Ann’s current participation in Muskingum County Land Reutilization Corp Board, Zanesville Downtown Association, Zanesville Development Corporation, Muskingum Valley Garden Society and Muskingum River Advisory Council. She believes that we are blessed in this community to have a network of caring people who contribute to making it a desirable place to live and work.
