Major Responsibilities:
To provide direction in comprehensive planning for residential and economic development, and for the future growth of Zanesville; to research funding sources that can provide financial assistance to
help implement the City's comprehensive planning efforts whether initiated by Community Development or other departments.
Standard Services Provided:
Comprehensive planning; administration of the City's Zoning Code; Assistance to four City Planning boards (Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Design Review Board and Downtown
Design Review Board) and the Shade Tree committee; administer City's Community Development Block Grant Program, CDBG funded housing rehabilitation program, CDBG funded Revolving Loan Fund program for economic development within the City's limits.

Notice of public meeting and Information repository for a Clean Ohio Assistance
Fund Grant.
The City of Zanesville is applying for a grant from the Clean Ohio Assistance Fund for a Phase II Environmental Assessment of the Former GNB property located at
1606 Moxahala Ave., Zanesville OH 43701. The application is available for review at the John McIntire Library, located at 220 N. 5th St., Zanesville, OH 43701 until October 7, 2009. A public meeting to discuss and solicit comments to the grant application will be held on October 6, 2009 at the Zanesville City Hall located at 401 Market Street, Zanesville, OH 43701 at 4:00 p.m. Application information is also available online at www.coz.org/communitydev.cfm.
